India observes losing top position in the ICC ODI team ranking after losing to New Zealand

Indian cricket team lost their top position in the ICC ODI team rankings after losing at the hands of New Zealand by 15 runs (D/L Method) at Hamilton yesterday. With this victory, the home team took 2-0 lead of the series.
In a rain curtailed match, the Kiwi players scored 271 runs for 7 in 42 overs. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor scored 77 and 57 runs respectively while Corey Anderson played an aggressive innings of 17-ball 44 with two boundaries and five sixes.
For India, Mohammed Shami took three wickets apiece while other four wickets were taken by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina.
Taking two early wickets, Kiwi bowlers could able to put some pressure over Indian batsmen. However, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni kept India’s hope of winning the match but due to tight ball from New Zealand bowlers the tourist could not snatch the victory. Both Kohli and Dhoni scored 78 and 56 runs respectively.

India scored 277 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 41.3 overs. Due to interrupt of rain, India could not play the last three balls of the final over.
