As
of January 1, Aamir Khan’s latest movie Dhoom
3 has collected Rs. 252.70 crore at the domestic box office, including earnings
from the Tamil and Telugu versions. It took less than two weeks to reach that
margin. However, it has also become the first movie to make the fastest Rs.100
crore in just three days of its release.
Dhoom
3, which is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, was released on December 20
worldwide in about 4000 screens. It includes other stars are Katrina Kaif,
Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. It took an approximate budget of Rs. 100
crore for making the film.
Trade
pundit, Taran Adarsh, gave the total
income report in his Twitter account. He tweeted on Thursday,
"'Dhoom:
3' week 2 - Total Hindi: Rs.240.78 crore, Tamil and Telugu: Rs.11.92 crore.
Grand total: Rs.252.70 crore,".
Looking
at the box office collection of the third installment of Dhoom series, it looks
like that trade analysts’ prediction that the movie will gross Rs. 250 crore in
the first two weeks come true.
As
usual Abhishek and Uday played their roles as Jai Dixit and Ali. The
interesting thing and perhaps the most exciting thing of this movie is that
Aamir Khan performed doublerole as Sahir and Samar. Katrina Kaif played the
role of a female acrobat, Aaliya.
