Cristiano Ronaldo gets FIFA Ballon d'Or award second time

The 28-year-old Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, won the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2013 award which ended Lionel Messi’s four-year winning streak. For the second time of his career, he has got this prestigious award. Undoubtedly he had close competition with Argentine forward Lionel Messi and French winger Franck Ribery.
Barcelona player, Messi, had taken this coveted FIFA Ballon d'Or award three times and Ballon d'Or in 2009 until it was merged with the FIFA World Player Of The Year award.
Cristiano Ronaldo got 1365 points. With 1205 points, Messi finished second to Ronaldo while Ribery became third among the finalists with 1127 points.

Of 209 national teams, 184 national team coaches, 184 national team captains and 173 media representatives voted for the 2013 Ballon d’Or.
