3 Idiots will compete for the best foreign language film in the 37th Japan Academy Awards

It is obviously a good news for Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and cast and crew of ‘3 Idiots’ that the film which was released on 23 December 2009 worldwide has been nominated for the 37th Japan Academy Awards in the best Outstanding Foreign Language Film category. Other foreign language movies which have been nominated for the same category are ‘Captain Phillips’, ‘Django Unchained’, ‘Gravity’ and ‘Les Miserables’. The award giving ceremony will take place on March 7 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo.
Rajkumar Hirani directed 3 Idiots which also featured Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor in the major roles became box office hit. This movie criticized the education system in India.

Since its establishment in 1978 by the Nippon Academy Award Association, the Japan Academy Awards is organized every year.
