Dhoom: 3 makes new box office record in India and Pakistan

It is surprising to see that Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom: 3 has collected Rs. 233.57 crore worldwide in 5 days since its release on December 20 to December 24. The third installment of Dhoom from the banner Yash Raj Films crossed the 1 billion rupee ($16.7 million) mark in India.
In India, Dhoom: 3 has broken the previous opening day and opening weekend collection records which was hold by Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ and Hrithik Roshan's ‘Krrish 3’.
Not only in India but also Dhoom: 3 has broken box office records in Pakistan. It has grossed around Rs. 20 million on its opening day from 56 screens in the country’s largest city of Karachi. The previous record was hold by Pakistani film Waar which collected Rs. 11.4 million on its opening day.
It is nice to see that Dhoom: 3, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan, is doing well in Pakistan. The interesting thing is that it was released despite Lahore High Court’s order of not exhibiting “illegally” imported films.
Because of the increasing popularity of Dhoom: 3 in Karachi, multiplex owners are running the film on all their screens and making five shows a day in order to earn as much money as possible.
