The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has
appointed former England
wicketkeeper, Paul Downton, as managing director of England cricket in the place of Hugh
Morris. He will start his job in February next year.
Paul Downton played county
cricket for Middlesex and Kent. He made his international debut in 1977 and
played till 1988. In his 10 years of cricket career, he played 30 Tests and 28
ODIs for national cricket team.
Geoff Miller, who was in
the position since 2008 as the Chairman of Selectors and National Selector,
will be replaced
by former England
batsman, James Whitaker, on January 1.
In August, Hugh Morris
announced that he will join Glamorgan for whom he previously played as chief
executive and director of cricket.
