Virat Kohli, who is
considered as the most prolific and reliable batsman of the Indian cricket
team, was given Arjuna Award on Saturday (August 31). He has received this
prestigious award from President Pranab Mukherjee.
The 24-year-old player is
happy to be presented
with Arjuna Award. He is feeling excited after being conferred with this honor.
He has posted a message on his Twitter account saying, “Kohli said it was a
"surreal experience" to be presented with Arjuna Award. "Cant
describe the feeling while getting the arjuna award. Surreal experience. Big
honour. #happy #proud.”
He was at the centre of
attraction at the awards ceremony. While he was receiving the award, he was given
a loud applause. Since making his international cricket debut for India in 2008, he
has been consistently performing well. He has become the permanent member in
the team.
In five years of his
cricket career, he has already achieved many awards. Playing 113 ODI matches,
he has scored 4575 runs at an average of 49.72 including 15 centuries and 24
half-centuries. In 18 Tests, he has scored 1175 runs with four centuries and
six fifties. He has also scored 558 runs with four half-centuries in 20
Twenty20 Internationals.
