India’s 10-run victory helps to avoid whitewash



Indian cricket team won the third ODI match against Pakistan by 10 runs at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in Delhi. With this victory, the host nation could avoid whitewash at the hand of their arch-rival enemy. They finished the home series 1-2 thanks to Indian bowlers and fielder.
They lost the first two matches of the 3-match ODI series and also lost the ODI series 2-0. So, they had no hope of making their come back in the series. They wanted to win the final ODI match just to reduce the defeat margin.
Cricket fans could enjoy a nail biting match between these two neighboring countries. This low-scoring match was full of excitement. Both teams had equal opportunity to win the match.
Batting first, India scored 167 runs for the loss of all wickets in 43.4 overs. Scoring 36 runs, captain MS Dhoni became the highest scorer for team India. Suresh Raina played a passionate innings of 60-ball 31.
Spinner Saeed Ajmal caused the great destruction with the ball. He alone claimed 5 wickets for 24 at an economy of 2.48. Tall fast bowler Mohammad Irfan supported him claiming two wickets. Other three wickets were shared by Junaid Khan, Umar Gul and Mohammad Hafeez.
In reply, Pakistan was bowled out for 157 runs. Captain, Misbah-ul-Haq played well and his passionate innings showed his team of winning the match. Opener Nasir Jamshed scored 34 runs from 64 balls.
Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashwin took two wickets apiece. Debutant bowler Shami Ahmed claimed Ravindra Jadeja got one wicket each.
