Tamim Iqbal will play for Pune Warriors

Bangladeshi hard-hitting opening batsman, Tamim Iqbal, was signed by Pune Warriors on Wednesday for the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After signing with the young promising player, the franchise has completed the overseas players’ slots for the coming season.

Tamim Iqbal has become the eleventh overseas players for Pune Warriors and their second signing this week after Australian captain, Michael Clarke. Tamim had been in talks with the franchise management, lead by their captain Sourav Ganguly, for the past week.

The 23-year-old batsman has become the second Bangladeshi after Shakib Al Hasan who will be playing in this year’s IPL, and has become the fifth player from that country in the tournament overall.

Tamim Iqbal is in a good form. He would like to carry his form of the recently concluded Asia Cup tournament to this cash-rich cricket tournament. His performance in four-nation cricket tournament has helped him to get a call from one of the IPL franchises.

It will give him an opportunity to play with a number of foreign players in the same team. This might help him to be a much matured player.

It is time to see if he can prove his talent.
