From now, any one can check his or her Provident Fund (PF) account’s balance online by clicking on the mouse. The service of checking the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) online was launched on 1st July 2011.
With this service, the members will be able to get their PF account balance update as SMS alert on their cell phones.
To get advantage of this facility, members will only need to provide their respective PF account numbers. For the past two months, software was examined by EPFO.
As part of the initiative to inculcate transparency, EPFO has also started online tracking of PF claims. Accounts will be updated within December 2011.
