English skipper Andrew Strauss is upset for the defeat against Bangladesh

England cricket team has been put under huge pressure after losing the match against Bangladesh on Friday. Their two-wicket loss to Bangladesh makes their work to move into the second round much tougher.

After losing the match at the hand of weak opponent Ireland by three wickets, they were facing to be kicked out of the group round. But they could resurrect their hope of moving into the second round after getting a 6-run victory over South Africa.

Playing 5 matches, England could manage to get only 5 with two wins and 2 losses while the other match ended in a draw due to bad weather. England has no option except win the match if they want to play in the knockout stage. In their last group match, they will face West Indies on 17 March 2011. This match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk in Chennai. Now, fans will be eagerly waiting to see if England can able to get their second round ticket or not. If they fail to get the much needed victory against West Indies then they will surely be kicked out of the tournament and it will be a big upset.

The victory against England will be memorable in the history of Bangladesh cricket. Hardly anyone could think that Bangladesh would win the match when they lost 8 wickets to collect 169 runs. In this situation, Mahmudullah Riyad and Shafiul Islam took the helm of batting line up and made an unbroken 58-run partnership in the ninth wicket stand to lead Bangladesh to a victory. Bangladesh could reach the target with six balls remaining at hand.

Winning the toss, Bangladeshi skipper Shakib Al Hasan chose to bat first and it was proved to be a good decision when they took 3 wickets for 53. However, England could score 225 runs playing 49.4 overs thanks to the effort of Eoin Morgan and Jonathan Trott. They added 109 runs in the fourth wicket stand.

Eoin Morgan recently made his return from injury and replaced Kevin Pietersen who was sent home due to injury. Eoin Morgan never missed the opportunity to show his skill of playing under pressure. Bangladeshi bowlers also could not stop Jonathan Trott scoring runs in this match.
