Rani Mukherjee Involved in Stroke Awareness Initiative

Indian Stroke Association (ISA) has got Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee as its ambassador to create awareness among the general people about stroke across India. In association with ISA, the actress would now set up the Rani Mukerjee Stroke Treatment Fund which would bear the treatment costs of 25 poor stroke patients.

Rani Mukherjee is happy to be involved in this social cause and wants to help ISA to take this issue to the every corner of the country.

About her involvement with ISA, Rani Mukherjee said, “It's first time that doctors have taken initiative of asking a Bollywood celebrity my first question to Doctors what can I do because it's a medical thing. And how will I be helpful in the cause? And their straight answer was it will help create awareness among people fast. They believe when you talk to people through bollywood platform people get more motivated to hear you…..

……In our country stroke is the third largest killer and is also, the leading cause of adult disability. It will be my privilege to support ISA in its pioneering efforts towards awareness, diagnosis and appropriate management of the condition.”

No doubt, Rani’s fans would be proud to see their favorite star getting involved in such a social issue. The 32-year-old Bollywood star may not have produced any big hit over the last few years, but her acting has not lost the spark yet.
