Oscar Awards 2011 winners: Colin Firth wins Best Actor and Natalie Portman wins Best Actress Award

The 83rd Academy Awards took place on February 27, 2011 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Tim Gunn, the famous American fashion consultant and television personality, Maria Menounos, Robin Roberts, and Krista Smith did the Academy Awards pre-show.

The Oscar Awards 2011 was hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway. The show was produced by Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer and directed by Don Mischer.

The Oscar Awards 2011 show was important in many ways. The King’s Speech won Oscar for Best Lead Actor (Colin Firth) and Best Director (Tom Hooper). Christian Bale won actor in a supporting role for The Fighter. Melissa Leo also on best actress in supporting role for The Fighter. Natalie Portman won best actress award in lead role for Black Swan.

Three movies- "How to Train Your Dragon", The Illusionist and Toy Story 3 won best animated Feature Film.

Alice in Wonderland won Achievement in Art Direction and Costume design (Colleen Atwood). Inception won Achievement in Cinematography (Wally Pfister). Inside Job won Documentary (Feature) and Strangers No More won Documentary (Short Subject).

The Social Network won Oscar in film editing and Denmark movie In a Better World won Foreign language movie award.
