Sachin Tendulkar is the most capped ODI batsman

India’s most prolific batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, has made another new world record after making his appearance in the second ODI match against South Africa at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

The ODI match against the host team on 15th January 2011 was his 444th ODI match. He became the most capped ODI player. Another player who has played equal number of ODI matches is veteran Sri Lankan batsman, Sanath Jayasuriya.

The 37-year-old player has scored the highest number of runs and centuries in ODI format of cricket game. He has already scored 17605 runs at an average of 45.02 and 45 centuries. He is the only batsman who has scored double century in ODI cricket.

In South Africa, Sachin Tendulkar has also scored his 51st Test century. There is no other batsman whose record is much closer from Sachin Tendulkar. He has 14692 runs besides his name. Even, he is the most-capped Test cricketer in the world.

However, in the second ODI match, he scored only 24 runs and his team was bowled out for 190 runs. He was bowled out by Johan Botha. Tendulkar made open the innings with Murali Vijay.

Host South Africa is leading the five-match ODI series 1-0 after defeating the touring team by 135 runs.
