Ipswich is going to face Arsenal in the first leg semi final of Carling Cup 2011. The match is going to start on 19:45 GMT of 12th January 2011 and it will take place on Portman Road the home of Ipswich. Both the clubs are struggling in the recent days and they need something out of this match.
Injury has become a major concern for Arsenal because with the number of injuries, they have to have very weak defense. So, the midfield players will have to work very hard in order to ensure that Ipswich cannot cause a major upset.
Causing an upset is on the mind of every Ipswich player but the reality is that earlier in the week, they suffered a 7-0 thrashing defeat at the hand of Chelsea. So, they will surely not want to see a repeat of that performance later tonight.

What will have a big influence on us is that we are two games away from the final, and we want to go there.

I know that many Arsenal supporters are hoping for an easy win but it may not be that easy because of the matter that Ipswich has come until the semi-finals by defeating some big clubs.
Arsene Wenger will try to field a much stronger squad compare to the normal time. Normally, Wenger puts a weaker squad mainly consisting of young players in the Carling Cup. This time, I am sure that he will take this match seriously and would put top players like Cesc Fabregas.
In the end, I think that it will be a very hard fought match but I think that Arsenal will be able to win it.
