Toyota Planning to Use Transsiberian Railway for Transportation of Cargos

Toyota is planning to use Russian Transsiberian Railway (Transsib) in order to reduce the transportation cost of the company cargos to Russia. Toyota is currently transporting the cargos from Japan to Russia by Sea which is the cheapest, but it takes 60 days, which will come down to 20 days when Toyota will begin to use Russian Transsiberian Railway. Toyota will start using this new route to Russia from spring 2009.

Toyota, one of the world's largest automobile-making corporations, regards this method of transportation as more promising, considering the growth of world prices of fuel and the need for reducing effluents of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the Nikkei newspaper wrote on Monday.

It is a good initiative taken by Toyota because quick delivery of the parts will speed up the production thus increasing the possibility of more profit. In the face of surging fuel price in the global market, Toyota has got to ensure the best possible way to increase production open up the possibility of profit.
