Glu Mobile Inc.h will distribute games for Sony Pictures Television International

On June 11th, famous mobile gaming company, Glu Mobile Inc. signed a distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). Under this deal, Glu will distribute existing and new mobile games on behalf of SPTI. Glu will release games in in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. TMC Net reports:

Mike Wald, senior vice president of pay television and new media distribution at SPTI, said ithe deal with Glu is important to his company as its builds a digital distribution business. Mobile content, including mobile games, is a core part of SPTI’s business and SPTI is “delighted” to leverage Glu’s distribution expertise to extend the reach of its titles to mobile carriers around the world, Wald said.

“We’re proud to partner with SPTI on this extensive distribution deal,” said Greg Ballard, president and chief executive officer of Glu.

Ballard said the partnership gives SPTI the global reach that its properties deserve and solidifies Glu’s position as the independent partner of choice for companies with global IP.

The first game distributed under this new agreement is Hancock, the next movie of Sony pictures starring Will Smith. The game is produced by Sony Pictures and will be launched in June. Glu will also distribute new versions Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
