Greater Noida Authority will spend R 10,000 crore in 2011

New Year 2011 is going to be a great infrastructural year for Greater Noida. To make the extension of the Metro line, Noida authorities have published a budget for the coming year.

Noida authorities will spend R 10,000 crore for the project over the next five years and it is expected to begin from the middle of the year which will take the Metro up to Greater Noida.

Mohinder Singh, who is the CEO and chairman of Noida Authority, announced that the project will start in the first week of February. Mohinder Singh said,

“In February, we will forward the request for qualification, after which we will start the tendering process. By June, we expect the project to be awarded to companies successful in the bidding process. By July, the construction of the Metro should start,”.

Four bridges over river Yamuna, two major road corridors with flyovers, underpasses and signal-free traffic are included in this project. Besides, it will make a link between Delhi and Mumbai through freight corridor, Eastern Peripheral and Upper Ganga expressways.

Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway have put together a “never-before” roadmap for these projects. The two major road corridors will be 130-meter wide to facilitate the BRT plan.

Tamil actor Vishnuvardhan dies: A great loss for all the fans

It is obviously a sad new for millions of Tamil movie fans that their superstar, Vishnuvardhan, died of heart attack early Wednesday. He left his last breath when he was being taken to the hospital in Mysore.

India levels the series 1-1 with 87-run victory

England put 59 runs lead against Australia in the 4th Ashes Test

Australian cricket team is struggling hard to take the control of the 5-match Ashes Test series as they got all out for 98 in the first innings of the fourth test. Their opposite team England is going to put a big chasing score in front of them.

English bowling trio- Chris Tremlett, James Anderson and Tim Bresnan demolished the Australian batting line up. Both Chris Tremlett and James Anderson took four wickets each. On the other hand, Tim Bresnan took two wickets. Their dominance over Australian batsmen took them less than two sessions to pack the host in a poor score. The most interesting thing is that Australia lost all the wickets behind the wicket.

Scoring 157 runs without losing any wicket, England put 59 runs lead ahead of Australia. Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook showed their discipline batting and scored half century centuries apiece. Andrew Strauss was unbeaten on 64 while Cook remained not out on 80.

Aussie bowlers did not look much impressive with the ball. They failed to take any wicket in the opening day. Their failure in both batting and bowling line up mean that England will take the lead 2-1 in the 5-match Ashes Test series.

Pankaj Bhadouria won the MasterChef India 2010

Beating two other contestants in the Grand Finale of the cookery game show MasterChef India 2010, Pankaj Bhadouria of Lucknow won the title. She received Rs. 1 crore check as prize money and also she will host one cooking show on Star Plus.

In the finale, she cooked Drunk Chicken Log, Cheesy Dill Salmon and Cranberry Cheese Blossom which won the price.

On 25 December 2010, the Grand Finale took place between three finalists. They were Chef Pankaj Bhadouria, Chef Jayanandan Bhaskar and Chef Radhicka Agarwaal.

It was graced by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan and actress Katrina Kaif who attended at the finale to promote their upcoming film, “Tees Maar Khan”. They were also judge of this show.
